. RIVERHEAD RACEWAY’S 2013 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND ..
.  ........... EYE ON RIVERHEAD: MAY 21, 2013 by Bob Finan ..  Where
did that rain come from? Perhaps the most asked question last Saturday
at Riverhead Raceway that to this minute is still unanswered. Once again
however our unbeatable team consisting of promoters Barbara & Jim
Cromarty, our loyal race teams and most of all our diehard fans didn't
fold and the entire race card was completed. To those who came out
despite the rain all around the track, thank you very much. Howie Brode
#96 swept both ends of the Twin 30 NASCAR Modified features wheeling his
Peter Clark Motorsports owned Petro Fuel Oil Chevy, it was Howie's first
win since July of 2010 when he won his second Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek
77 Memorial. The smile on Howie's face after the hard fought win told
the story of how much the win meant to him, plus it moves him to
4-points back of point leader Shawn Solomito #66, 72 to 68.....Full
Story. .. HOWIE BRODE ENDS RIVERHEAD RACEWAY DRY SPELL WITH TWIN 30'S SWEEP SATURDAY ..  Howie
Brode of East Islip snapped a nearly three year winless spell when he
swept the Twin 30 NASCAR Modified feature events at Riverhead Raceway
Saturday night. Threatening skies forced the features to be moved up in
the track's running order because of unexpected rain showers all around
the facility. For Brode it was his 12th career win at Riverhead and his
first since he won on July 17th, 2010 when he was triumphant in the
Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 Memorial. Ryan Preece of Berlin, Ct. set
fast time in qualifying with a lap of 11.777 but the popular young star
could only muster a 6th starting spot in the redraw while Shawn Solomito
and Howie Brode, who raced for the 2012 track title drew the front row.
When the green light winked on Brode was able to get the measure of
Solomito going into turn one and the rivals.....Full
Story. .. RIVERHEAD RACEWAY MEMORIAL DAY ENDURO PROGRAM SUNDAY MAY 26TH TO MARK 28TH ANNIVERSARY OF ENDURO RACING ON LONG ISLAND .. It
all started back on Memorial Day Weekend 1986 at Barbara & Jim
Cromarty's Riverhead Raceway and what was simply known as Enduro racing
became very popular with the Long Island racing community and has grown
into what competitors and fans alike refer to as "Enduromania".
This Sunday May 26th the Cromarty's will again open their pit gates to
the Enduro race teams on what will be their 28th Anniversary of racing
excitement and entertainment. Back in 1986 the Enduro concept was
catching on at short tracks all across the country with Barbara and Jim
Cromarty planning an 8-Cylinder race for the Sunday of the holiday
weekend, the turnout was tremendous. Bob Finan, long time announcer and

Story. .. MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND DOUBLEHEADER READY TO ROLL AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY SATURDAY & SUNDAY MAY 25TH & 26TH .. Barbara
& Jim Cromarty will usher the unofficial start of summer on Long Island
over the Memorial Day weekend with two great race meets Saturday evening
May 25th and Sunday afternoon May 26th. at Riverhead Raceway. The
season's first Demolition Derby, a 4-Cylinder affair will join the
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock cars Saturday, while a full card
of Enduro racing will take center stage Sunday afternoon at 12:30 pm.
Andrew Fowler of Wantagh will defend his 2012 Demolition Derby title
starting this Saturday night when the 4-Cylinder cars take to the track
for another bone-jarring and car destroying Demolition Derby. The
competitors and fans both love the 4-Cylinder events as for the

Story. .. JOE'S GARAGE SIGNS ON AS A MAJOR RIVERHEAD RACEWAY SPONSOR FOR 2013 ..  Riverhead
Raceway officials announced today that Joe's Garage, a restaurant which
features a car theme is slated to open this June in downtown Riverhead,
has signed on as a major sponsor of the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series at Barbara & Jim Cromarty's quarter mile oval. The Joe's Garage
marketing program at the track is multi pronged and includes sponsoring
the NASCAR Modifieds for the 2013 season. Located on the ground floor of
the state of the art Summerwind Building on Peconic Avenue, Joe's Garage
will feature an American Fare menu with price point locals can afford.
Ray Dickhoff of Joe's also disclosed, "We will be buying as much

Story. ... UNIQUE GOLF RETURNS AS VICTORY LANE TROPHY SPONSOR AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY  Unique
Golf of Babylon Village has returned to Riverhead Raceway as the victory
lane trophy sponsor for the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series it
was announced on opening night as Barbara & Jim Cromarty ushered in a
new race season. The track will run weekly from now until Saturday
September 28th presenting a great combination of stock car racing and
family entertainment events for all to enjoy. "On the nights where there
is not a trophy from either Riverhead Raceway or one of its many
marketing partners Jim Wichert of Unique Golf has graciously agreed to
sponsor the victory lane trophies once again this year" Bob Finan
disclosed in making the announcement. Unique Golf, voted Long Island's
Best Golf Shop for the third year in a row by the Long Island Press and

Story. .. RAIN HALTS RIVERHEAD RACEWAY RACING, BUSY SATURDAY ON TAP THIS WEEK MAY 18TH .. A
heavy rain started to fall Saturday morning at Riverhead Raceway just as
the pit gates were scheduled to open for round two of the 2013 NASCAR
Whelen All-American Series forcing promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty to
cancel the evening's schedules seven for one card. The wash out sets-up
a very busy Saturday evening this coming week May 18th. The Twin 30's
for the NASCAR Modifieds that were to be contested before the rains came
will now switch to this coming Saturday night and the Late Models, who
were slated to have an off night will now race this week. Joining them
will be the Cromarty Cup 20 for the Figure Eights which was already on
the May 18th schedule with the Chargers, Blunderbusts, Super Pro Trucks
and Legend Race....Full
