JOHN BAKER SCORES $1,000 RIVERHEAD RACEWAY LATE MODEL WIN,
VETERAN MIKE BUKSA TOPS NATIONAL STOCK DEMO CHAMPIONSHIP

After completing his rookie season in the NASCAR Modified ranks at Riverhead Raceway one week ago John Baker of Brookhaven returned to his full body racing roots Saturday to win the $1,000 50-lap Late Model Cone race. In the National Stock Demolition Derby championship 54-year old Mike "Gravel" Buksa of Islip won the hard hitting event worth $1,600 and his first National Championship since 1988. After Shawn Patrick led the first two laps of the Late Model feature John Baker was able to make an outside pass for the lead on lap 2. Moments after losing the race.....Full Story

Boom! Just like that the 2016 NASCAR Whelen All American Series is over at our beloved Riverhead Raceway. While rain wiped out four scheduled Saturday night shows the freshman season under the reins of Eddie & Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz could be determined a rousing success on many levels. Off the track the vast capital improvements made a visit to Riverhead Raceway very enjoyable. Under the watchful eye of new Race Director Scott Tapley and GM John Ellwood the on track racing and the efficiency of the weekly program.....Full Story

NASCAR MODIFIED TWIN 30'S, SOLOMITO 2016 CHAMPION

Seven track champions were officially crowned Saturday night as Eddie & Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz hosted Champion's Night for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Saturday at Riverhead Raceway. In the headlining Twin 30's for the NASCAR Modifieds Shawn Solomito of Center Moriches won his fifth race of the year in first feature clinching his second track championship in the process.....Full Story

EYE ON RIVERHEAD

We'll start this effort off with a programming note concerning this Saturday night and our Champions Night NASCAR Whelen All American Series program. Seven divisions for 185 laps of feature event racing will find schedule adjustments being implemented. First off the pits will open at 1:00 pm, with practice starting at 2:30 pm and running on a rotating basis until 4:00 pm. After some pit meetings qualifying will begin at 4:45 pm and our opening ceremonies commence at 5:45 pm. Looking forward to remembering a very special man Saturday.....Full Story

DAVE ANTOS SCORES SUMMER SMACKDOWN
GRAND ENDURO CLEAN SWEEP AT RIVERHEAD

Defending Grand Enduro champion Dave Antos of Riverhead scored a Summer Smackdown Grand Enduro sweep Sunday afternoon at Riverhead Raceway first setting fast time in qualifying (14.868) and then going out and winning the 75-lap feature event. The complete card of racing was run in a very run efficient manner with 305 laps of racing completed in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Prior to racing a moment of silence was observed on the 15th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. After Dave Antos set fast time he drew the #6 pill signifying the top six from qualifying .....Full Story

HOWIE BRODE TAKES ADVANTAGE OF LATE RACE RESTART
TO RECORD 20TH CAREER RIVERHEAD RACEWAY NASCAR MODIFIED VICTORY

With five laps remaining in the Whelen Engineering Night NASCAR Modified feature at Riverhead Raceway former three time champion Howie Brode of East Islip seemed content with a potential runner-up finish to Ken Darch of Riverhead. However a late race caution on lap 36 for a minor spin changed the complexion of the race as Brode powered his way to the outside on the double file restart to take the lead with three laps remaining in the race to collect his 20th career NASCAR Modified victory. Rookie Dillon Steuer and veteran Ken Darch brought the field to green with Steuer.....Full Story

DAVE BRIGATI ESSENTIALLY CLINCHES RIVERHEAD RACEWAY EAGLE AUTO MALL MODIFIED CRATE TITLE WITH LABOR DAY LUAU TRIUMPH SUNDAY

"The Fancy Farmer" Dave Brigati of Calverton took a giant step towards the first ever Eagle Auto Mall Modified Crate championship when he won the 40-lap Labor Day Luau Sunday afternoon at Riverhead Raceway. With just one points paying race left in 2016 Brigati's 25 point lead over Dylan Slepian of Dix Hills coupled with an average car count of 10 in the division essentially makes Brigati the champion. The only fly in the ointment for Dave would be a field of 13 or better for the points finale September 17th. Despite a gloomy weather forecast that predicted heavy wind & rain.....Full Story

TOM ROGERS JR SCORES RIVERHEAD RACEWAY DOUBLE WINNING
NASCAR MODIFIED & FIGURE EIGHT FEATURE EVENTS

What ever ailed defending Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Modified and Figure Eight champion Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead earlier in the season is now just a memory as he scored the win in both the 40-lap NASCAR Modified feature which he backed up minutes later with the victory in the 15-lap Figure Eight main event. In the 30-lap INEX Legend Race Cars National Qualifier championship leader Vinny Delaney of Holtsville scored the biggest win of his career taking home the win and some $950 in the process. A rare sight on the starting grid for the NASCAR Modified contest.....Full Story

Even though we are on the doorstep to the final month of the season, Riverhead Raceway owners Eddie & Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz keep making upbeat and exciting announcements for both competitors and fans concerning upcoming events. Monday the trio disclosed how the first place prize money will be determined for the National Stock Demolition Derby Championship September 24th.
