TWO FREE TO PUBLIC TEST & TUNE DATES ANNOUNCED FOR APRIL 19TH & APRIL 26TH AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY

For baseball fans the first crack of a bat at spring training is a welcoming sound a new season is near. For race fans of Riverhead Raceway on Long Island, it's the roar of racing engines taking to the historic track for the first time welcoming in a new season. On Saturday April 19th the sound of race engines and a sweet smell of Sunoco Race Fuels will permeate the air at as the track hosts the first of two test & tune sessions with free grandstand admission for race hungry fans. A second test & tune day is planned for April 26th, a prelude to the Pack the Track NASCAR opener May 3rd and May Meltdown Enduro lid lifter Sunday May 4th kicking off the 75th Anniversary season.
Race cars take to the track at 11:00 am April 19th, and again the following week with all the NASCAR and INEX classes running in rotation. The NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models, Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds, TK Figure Eights, Blunderbusts, Super Pro Trucks, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and INEX Legend Race Cars & Bandoleros part of the rotation. Later in the afternoon the popular Truck Enduro, 8-Cylinder Enduro and 4/6-Cylinder Enduro teams will have the track to themselves and also take part in rotating sessions.
Once the April 19th & 26th practice days are in the books all eyes turn to an exciting Pack the Track 75th Anniversary season opener May 3rd. The NASCAR Modifieds, let by two-time and defending champion John Beatty Jr. of Merrick will go to post in a 50-lap main event, the first of thirteen regular season contests. Rounding out the Pack the Track festivities are the Late Models (25), Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds (25), TK Figure Eights (15), Blunderbusts (20), Super Pro Trucks (20) and INEX Legend Race Cars (20). Spectator gates will open at 4:00 pm with opening ceremonies at 6:00 pm. Adults are $30, kids 6-12 $15, 5 & under free.
The dust will barley settle from Saturday night racing when the May Meltdown race card hits the track the following afternoon May 4th. Headlining the matinee are the Street Stocks and Mini Stocks, both of whom run 30-lap feature events. Track GM John Ellwood disclosed recently the Street Stocks will race under a full NASCAR sanction in 2025. The popular INEX Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws will go to post in 15-lap main events with a Trucks Enduro, 8-Cylinder Enduro and 4/6-Cylinder Enduro completing the day. Enduro race distance will be determined by number of entrants. Spectator gates open at 12 noon, opening ceremonies are set for 1:00 pm Sunday. Adults are $30, kids 6-12 $15, 5 & under are free.
Fans of Riverhead Raceway are encouraged to come out and enjoy the two free to the public test 7 tune days April 19th & 26th, the food services stand in turn three will serve both the pit area and spectators. For both test & tune dates race teams will pay the 2025 pit entrance fees, $45 with a NASCAR license or $65 without.
