RIVERHEAD RACEWAY ANNOUNCES APRIL 4TH & APRIL 11TH SAFETY TECH INSPECTION DATES

The first official order of business leading up to the 76th season of racing at Riverhead Raceway unfolds Saturday April 4th, and again Saturday April 11th when the track hosts two Safety Tech Inspection days. The 2026 NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts gets the opening weekend party started with seven divisions of racing on NASCAR Pack the Track Night Saturday May 2nd, with the annual May Meltdown is set to round out opening weekend Sunday May 3rd featuring Enduro and INEX Bandolero racing.
Riverhead Raceway Chief of Inspection Randy Murray and his staff will be available from 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM both April 4th and April 11th to perform Safety Tech inspections. Teams are reminded that no cars are permitted to practice during the two practice days on Saturday April 18th & April 25th without going through and passing Safety Tech and receiving a sticker noting they have. A $20 per car fee will be charged for Safety Tech.
"I must stress once again that no engines are to be started at any time during the two Safety Tech Inspection days" Riverhead Raceway GM John Ellwood emphasized, "we'll have a push truck here for those who need it, no exceptions".
Ellwood also noted race teams are able to purchase Hoosier Tires and Sunoco Race Fuel during the two Safety Tech Inspection days.
Once the inspection days are in the books, attention quickly turns to the two practice days set for Riverhead Raceway featuring free admission to the grandstands both April 18th & April 25th. Cars take to the track at 11:00 AM and will practice into the late afternoon with teams striving to find the right set-up for opening weekend success.
