FIREWORKS, DEMO DERBY TO CELEBRATE AMERICA'S MILITARY SERVICE, SCOUT & LOCAL SPORTS LEAGUE NIGHT AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY SATURDAY

An evening of recognition and celebration is planned for Riverhead Raceway this Saturday June 6th with the first Fireworks display and Demolition Derby highlighting the special presentation. The track will host America's Military Service Night saluting our armed forces with Scout Night and Local Sports League Night joining in on the festivities. A full NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts stock car program featuring the Buzz Chew Chevrolet Modifieds will be contested starting at 6:30 PM.
The America's Military Service Night originally scheduled for May 23rd that was rained moves to this Saturday night. Active and non-active military members from all branches of armed forces receive 50% off an adult general admission ticket with a valid ID. For just $15 they can sit back and enjoy a Fireworks extravaganza presented by Special FX Wizard, a Long Island based firm with over 36 years of experience presenting many of the world's most notable fireworks performances. The original date for Scout Night was also lost to weather back on May 9th and it too moved to this Saturday, joining the regularly scheduled Local Sports League Night. All scout and youth league players in uniform will be admitted free of charge at the general admission gates to enjoy a fun and exciting night that will be capped off by the first car destroying 4/6-Cylinder Demolition Derby of 2026!
The Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modifieds are back in action for with a 50-lap event on the menu where Mark Stewart of Riverhead and Owen Grennnan of Glen Cove come to the race tied for the championship chase lead. Most recent winner Chris Young of Calverton sits just two points back in third while Chris Rogers of Patchogue and Matt Brode of East Islip rank fourth and fifth. Stewart comes to Saturday in a roll having won the Miller Lite Salutes Don Howe 200 WMT last week, while Young hopes to go back-to-back in weekly action. Grennan, Rogers and Brode will be hunting for their first 2026 victory.
Back for their second race of the young season are the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds who'll go to post in a 25-lap main event led by opening night winner AJ DeSantis of Yaphank. The INEX Legend Race Cars will make their fourth start of the year with the question looming; can anyone beat Riely O'Keefe of Manorville who has swept the first three races of '26. Complementing the evening are the Mini Stocks, 8-Cylinder Enduro and the debut of Riverhead Raceway's newest division, the 4/6-Cylinder Figure Eights. The JuiceBox Racers will be in action right after opening ceremonies.
Qualifying will start at 5:15 PM while special opening ceremonies featuring our military, scouting and youth league participants presented at 630 PM. General admission opens at 5:00 PM, adults are $30 ($15 with military ID), kids 6-12 $20 (free in scout or youth league uniforms) with 5 & under free.
