SCHOOL BUS FIGURE EIGHT, FIREWORKS HIGHLIGHT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY SATURDAY NIGHT JUNE 10TH RACE PROGRAM
As spring winds down and summer approaches the family entertainment and NASCAR stock car racing excitement is already heating up at Riverhead Raceway and Saturday June 13th is living proof. Six NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts divisions, headlined by the 600-horsepower Buzz Chew Chevrolet Modifieds will provide the wheel-to-wheel racing excitement with a School Bus Figure Eight race and Fireworks extravaganza taking the program to another level.
If the second School Bus Figure Eight race of 2026 as is exciting as the first on May 16th, then fans are in for another adrenaline rush. Kyle Ellwood of Riverhead, the 2025 INEX Legend Race Car champion showed his versatility when he won hotly contested event over "The Z-Man" Ryan Zukowski of Riverhead and the Babylon Brawler" Sean Fitzpatrick of West Babylon. No matter who winds up in victory lane, the sights and sounds of 13-ton, full size School Buses racing side by side and at times avoiding a crash at the intersection are to behold. With high winds forcing the Town of Riverhead Fire Marshall and Riverhead Raceway management to postpone last week's Fireworks presentation to this Saturday June 13th further ramping up the family entertainment excitement.
On track the Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modifieds go to post for their fourth 50-lap tilt of 2026 with Timmy Solomito of Islip, Chris Young of Calverton and Chase Grennan of Glen Cove scoring victories to date. The Late Models return for a 25-lap feature event while the TK Figure Eights go 15-laps while 20-laps feature events are planned for the Blunderbusts and Street Stocks. Rounding out the wall-to-wall racing action will be a 40-lap Truck Enduro.
Qualifying begins at 5:15 PM with opening ceremonies at 6:30 PM, general admission gates open at 5:00 PM. Adults are $30, kids 6-12 $20, 5 & under are free.
