FIRST SCHOOL BUS DEMOLITION DERBY OF 2026 RIVERHEAD RACEWAY SEASON TO BE UNLEASHED SATURDAY

Since their inception, the School Bus Demolition Derby contests are among the most popular family entertainment event presented annually at Riverhead Raceway. Saturday the motorized mayhem of the huge 13-ton machines will be unleashed when the first School Bus Demolition Derby of 2026 is presented to close out the NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts program featuring the Two for TK Figure Eight Twin 9's.
As anyone who has ever witnessed a School Bus Demolition Derby in the past at Riverhead Raceway can attest to, the sights, sounds and even the aromas will test your senses while the 13-ton School Buses get after each other vigorously during the no-hold barred event. For Saturday night an all-star roster of drivers is readying their buses for the carnage. Frank "The Tank" Dumicich Jr., "The Z-Man" Ryan Zukowski, "Babylon Brawler" Sean Fitzpatrick, "Kannonball" Rob Kettenbell, "Blazin Bee" Jimmy White Jr., "Short Round" Chris Lescenski, Joey "Bam Bam" Warren Jr. and a driver simply known as "Dirty" Mike will be among the participants.
Prior to all the madness the 4th annual Two for TK Twin 9 Figure Eight features will have been contested honoring the late "TK" Tom Kraft. Earlier this week the track in conjunction with Erin Larsen-Delaney announced the lap and bonus awards for the Two for TK races. The Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modifieds return after a week off for a 50-lap feature event, their final tune up before the Oval Speed Bubba 150 on Saturday July 25th. Complementing the program are the Late Models, INEX Bandoleros, Truck Enduro and a JuiceBox Racers contest right after opening ceremonies.
General admission gates open at 5:00 PM, opening ceremonies are slated for 6:15 PM and are proceeded by qualifying. Adults $40, kids 6-12 $20, 5 & under free.
