Another diverse weekend featuring an exciting blend of thrilling side-by-side NASCAR stock car racing along with fun family entertainment events is planned for historic Riverhead Raceway this Friday night August 7th and Saturday evening August 8th. The annual Cromarty Wall of Champions induction and Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 will highlight the Friday portion of the twin bill weekend, while Saturday the Ollie's Bargain Outlet I Love America night program featuring Fireworks and a School Bus Demolition Derby takes. center stage.
Friday night three iconic names of NASCAR Modified racing will be remembered with the annual running of the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek, all three leaving a huge imprint on the sport nationally as well as on Long Island before their untimely passing's doing what they were born to do, race. All three Modified giants are enshrined on the Cromarty Wall of Champions located in the third turn midway of Riverhead Raceway and on Friday and prior to the 77 Howie Brode, a Bay Shore native who calls East Islip home and Danny Grennan, a lifelong Glen Cove resident will take their rightful place on the wall.
Dylan Slepian of Dix Hills is the defending race winner of the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 after his win last August. Despite running a part-time slate in 2026, "Slep" is expected to defend his 2025 race win. Owen Grennan of Glen Cove sits atop the 2026 Modified championship chase heading to Friday leading Mark Stewart of Riverhead by six markers, Chris Young of Calverton sits third 24 points back of Grennan.
Allan Pedersen of Center Moriches will lead the Late Models into a 25-lap battle Friday as the championship leader by two points over veteran Dave Brigati of Calverton and four better than third place Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead. The Super Pro Trucks are set for 20-laps of feature racing that finds a brother and sister occupying the top two championship standings positions. Frank Dumicich Jr. of East Quogue leads his sister Erin Solomito, also out of East Quogue by 6-points, Mark Stewart sits third 10 out of the lead. Also in action Friday are the Eddie Partridge Vintage All Stars and it is expected that field will be spiced up by a Jarzombek race car or two out of the Ricky Jarzombek shops out of Baiting Hollow.
Saturday Ollie's Bargain Basement through their Riverhead location presents the annual I Love America Night celebration. An evening to celebrate patriotism and all things America with a special Fireworks extravaganza planned to light up the night sky. After a July rainout, a full-size School Bus Demolition Derby will close out the Ollie's Bargain Basement I Love America night festivities with most recent winner the "Babylon Brawler" Sean Fitzpatrick of West Babylon hoping for his second win of 2026.
Prior to the Fireworks and Bus Demo plenty of great NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts racing will unfold led by the TK Figure Eights. No division has been affected more than the TK Figure Eights in 2026 with a recent announcement of an added Friday night how August 28th where the Two fo TK Twin 9's will be presented after a July washout. Gary Fritz Jr, of Mastic has a four-point cushion over Will Farrell of Shirley heading into Saturday's 15-lapper, Allan Pedersen sits third 8 out of the lead. The NASCAR Street Stocks will go 20-circuits Saturday with two-time winner in '26 Jarrod Hayes of Calverton leading the championship chase. Brandon Hubbard of Mastic sits second trailing Hayes by 8-point, 18 back in third is Chris Lescenski of Riverhead. Mike Mujsce Jr of Hampton Bays hopes to continue his hot streak in the new 4/6-Cylinder Figure Eight race where he has won two of the three races in 2026.
As the regular season enters its final two months at Riverhead Raceway, no driver has a more comfortable championship lead than red hot Riely O'Keefe of Manorville in the INEX Legend Race Cars ranks. O'Keefe, winner of five out of seven events contested this season leads his car owner Jim Sylvester of Massapequa by 54-points entering the 20-lap main event Saturday. Anthony Marsh sits third 68-point back of O'Keefe. The future driving stars of the INEX Bandoleros are back Saturday, with the Outlaws and Bandits going 15-laps while the Beginners contest a 10-lap feature. John Alaimo of Miller Place leads the Outlaws standings by 6 over Michael Barry of Patchogue with Tyler Oxee of Carmel, NY third 12 behind Alaimo. Second generation talent Mason Goodale of Riverhead leads the Bandit standing by 6 over Mackenzie Ulmet of Mattituck, while Broke Mayer and Wyatt Goodale, both from Riverhead are tied for third 8 back of Mason. Third generation driver Scarlett Dumicich of East Quogue is the leader in the Beginner ranks by 14 over Carissa Busam of Mastic; Alexis Gatz of Riverhead sits third.
Friday night general admission gates open at 6:30 PM, qualifying starts at 7:30 PM with opening ceremonies at 8:15 PM. $30 for adults, $20 kids 6-12 with 5 & under free. Saturday evening general admission opens at 5:00 PM, qualifying at 5:30 PM with opening ceremonies at 6:30 PM. Adults are $40, kids 6-12 $20 with 5 & under free.
