Another summer weekend of exciting stock car racing and family entertainment unfolds this weekend Friday August 14th and Saturday August 15th at the historic Riverhead Raceway. Kicking things off Friday night will be the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 for the Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modifieds, while Saturday belongs to the My Guy Auto Supply NAPA of Riverhead Monster Truck Smash featuring two performances.
After unforeseen severe weather darted across Long Island last Friday ending the program after qualifying, the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 NASCAR Modified will be contested this Friday August 14th. Qualifying for the 77 was already in the books when the storms hit with Owen Grennan of Glen Cove winning the HighMark Building Efficiency Fast Time award with a lap of 11.654. The 15-cars that took time are locked into the race this week, with any other teams showing Friday tagging on from 16th back. The Cromarty Wall of Champions ceremony inducting Howie Brode and Danny Grennan also lost last Friday will be held after opening ceremonies this week. Team members will have their August 7th pit wristbands honored for this Friday, or any other future event in 2026.
Joining the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 Friday night are the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds who will race a 25-lap feature, while the INEX Legend Race Cars and Mini Stocks each go 20-laps for their main events. The Truck Enduro stars are also set for action with a 40-lap feature. General admission gates open at 6:30 PM, qualifying heats start at 7:30 PM with opening ceremonies at 8:00 PM. $30 for adults, $20 kids 6-12, 5 & under free,
Saturday two big car crushing Monster Truck programs will unfold during the My Guy Auto Supply NAPA of Riverhead Summer Smash. The matinee gets things rolling with a Pit Party at 11:00 with rides available on one of the KSR Motorsports Monster Trucks, including a lap around the actual racetrack. The at 1:00 PM the on-track thrills and spills get underway with some amazing bicycle stunts, ATV racing & precision, a Wall of Fire stunt and of course the huge Monster Trucks. Aside from crushing cars as flat as a dime, the skilled drivers of the Monster Trucks will be performing slap wheelie, getting air, cyclone stunts and more!
The evening performance of the My Guy Auto Supply NAPA of Riverhead will commence with the pit party at 5:00 PM, on track action starts at 7:00 PM. General admission is $40 for adults, kids 6-12 $20, 5 & under free. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting www,riverheadraceway.com and follow the links. There are no reserved seats at Riverhead Raceway which features bleacher style seating on a first come, first serve basis.
