BALDWIIN, EVANS & JARZOMBEK 77 INTERRUPTED FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE FRIDAY BY POP UP STORM AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY, RESET FOR THIS FRIDAY AUGUST 21ST

It could have been a remake of the movie classic Groundhog Day at Riverhead Raceway Friday night as a pop-up storm hit the track after qualifying for the second week in a row. The rain, not forecasted by any local weather "experts" pushes the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 to this Friday August 21st with track management hopeful the old adage third time is a charm comes into play. Also moving to this Friday are the Cromarty Wall of Champions inductions of Howie Brode and Danny Grennan.
"Nobody saw this one coming, again" a frustrated Riverhead Raceway GM stated. "We'll move the Baldwin, Evans and Jarzombek 77 to next Friday along with the induction ceremony for Howie and Danny. As for the divisions that were scheduled to run in support of the 77 on August 7th and this past Friday, I will be working with Erin Larsen-Delaney to see how and where we can make up those races, lots of moving parts to figure out this late in the season" Ellwood added asking for teams to give his team time to figure it all out. Pit wristbands from August 7th and August 14th can be used by teams upon their next visit to Riverhead Raceway, fans who stopped and got rain checks both Friday's can also use those on their next panned visit in 2026.
Complementing the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 Friday will be the Late Models who will go 25-laps in feature event competition, while the Blunderbusts and Street Stocks go 20-laps each. The Enduro class that started it all, the 8-Cylinders will ruin a 40-lap event. General admission gates open at 6:30 PM, qualifying is set for 7:30 PM with opening ceremonies to follow. General admission is $30 for adults, kids 6-12 $20, 5 & under free.
Saturday night August 15th the doubleheader weekend concludes with another hard-hitting School Bus Demolition Derby set to join the NASCAR Local racing Series powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts. The Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modifieds will headline the NASCAR excitement with their 25-lap feature event and be joined by the TK Figure Eights Super Pro Trucks, INEX Legend Race Cars, INEX Bandoleros, a 4/6-Cylinder Enduro plus the JuiceBox Racers. General admission gates open at 5:00 PM with opening ceremonies planned for 6:30 PM. Adults $40, kids 6-12 $20 with 5 & under free Saturday.
