GERARD GIORDANO, RICHIE DAVIDOWITZ, BRANDON HUBBARD & SAL ACCARDI JR WINNERS DURING EDDIE PARTRIDGE 206 PROGRAM, PATRICK EMERLING DOMINATES WMT RACE

The championship implications were plentiful entering the My Guy Auto Supply NAPA of Riverhead Eddie Partridge 206 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at Riverhead Raceway Saturday. By the time the long night of racing was in the books, the championship picture became clearer not only for the 2026 WMT championship, but all three Riverhead Raceway divisions running in their penultimate races as well.  Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, NY, celebrated his 34th birthday in style by winning the My Guy Auto Supply NAPA of Riverhead Eddie Partridge 206 for his fifth WMT win of the season.

After pole sitter Matt Hirschman paced the race for the first 20-laps, Patrick Emerling roared to the race lead in his USNE Power machine and never looked back surviving numerous restarts along the way and one stiff challenge from rookie sensation Paulie Hartwig III. During a late race restart Hartwig was able to outrun Emerling for the lead before Patrick was able to loop back around Paulie to take back control of the race. When a late race caution forced the final restart with 15-laps remaining Patrick Emerling hit his marks and drove off to his 14th career WMT victory, his second at the Riverhead bullring. The win, coupled with Austin Beers 8th place finish pushes Emerling's championship advantage to 30 heading to the WMT finale at Thompson Motorsports Park in October. 

Hartwig of Galloway, NJ was runner-up in the Professional Therapy LLC Chevy, while Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville completed the podium in third with the Phoenix Communications entry. Justin, making his 250th career start won the American Racer Pole Award in qualifying but then spun a 10 on the wheel during introductions. Drawing first, Bonsignore drew a 9 and a gasp came over not only he and his Ken Massa Motorsports crew, but his many family and friends in the stands. Tyler Rypkema of Owego NY was fourth in the Northeast Drilling racer, while home grown Eric Goodale of Riverhead was fifth in the GAF Roofing Chevy.

The Late Models went 25-laps for their feature on the night with defending champion Gerard Giordano of Freeport making his first visit to victory lane in 2026. Early on CJ Lehmann paced the race over Ryan Zukowski with the first half of the race clicking off without incident. On lap 11 Kyle Harvell making his first start in quite some time spun off the second turn drawing a caution. On the ensuing restart Lehmann and Zukowski slipped up the hill coming to the green to resume the race with Allan Pedersen turning hard left to pass both to the inside. From laps 13 through 15 being out front was not the place to be as a series of missteps dampened not only the night of Pedersen and Lehmann, who got together for a caution and restarted at the rear. Keith Rotzi led the 14th & 15th laps with Zukowski and Brandon Turbush racing hard for second behind Keith and they'd get together racing into the third turn to draw a lap 15 caution. On the restart that followed Gerard Giordano worked the outside groove to make his way by Rotzi for the lead, a lead the 2025 Late Model champion would never surrender in his Armen Freight Chevy. Keith Rotzi of Islip settled for second still seeking his first career win on the Rudi's Bar & Grill entry, while Dave Brigati of Calverton rallied back for third in his Coors Light silver bullet. Heading to this Saturday September 26th Brigati and eight-time champion Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead are tied for the LM championship, Dave holds the tiebreaker with two wins to Jeremy's one. Brigati a former Charger, Super Pro Truck and Crate Modified champion has never won a Late Model crown. 

Richie Davidowitz of East Moriches won the INEX legend Race Car battle Saturday when he topped their 20-lap feature event while runner-up Riely O'Keefe of Manorville won the season long war officially clinching the 2026 championship. Davidowitz raced to the early advantage from the outside pole over Ray Fitzgerald who started from the pole however, Fitzgerald went right back at Davidowitz moving by for the lead on lap 2. After riding behind "Fitzy" for four lap Davidowitz snuck under Ray in the second corner to reclaim the lead, this time for good on lap 7. Not even a lap 17 double file restart would rattle the all-time leading Legend Race Car winner Davidowitz. A Joe Cooke Jr. and Mike Renn crash off the fourth turn slowed the race on lap 17, lining not only Fitzgerald up alongside Davidowitz, but it put seven-time 2026 winner Riely O'Keefe right on his rear bumper in third. O'Keefe, who started 10th was able to slip under Fitzgerald when the race resumed to start lap 18 and was looking to use the same move on the leader. Not so fast Richie Davidowitz proclaimed when the driver of the Freddie & Megan Kraft sponsored car, perhaps the oldest car in the field drove off to his second win of 2026, 31st of his career. Riely O'Keefe and his Jim Sylvester owned, Joe Ryan Race Cars team celebrated his first career track championship with a runner-up finish while Anthony Marsh of Riverhead made some late race moves during the final restart for third in his East West Pest Control coupe. 

After the 20-lap Street Stock feature was pushed back to run after the WMT race due to Flo Racing time constraints, the troops came out chomping at the bit with a rough and tumble race ensuing. When the checker flag waved Brandon Hubbard of Mastic had scored his 4th win of 2026. During the race there were six position changes among the top two spots with Dennis Kurras leading Brandon Hubbard for two laps before championship leader Jarrod Hayes raced by Hubbard for second on the third circuit. Hubbard, who was in the thick of the 2026 title fight with Hayes before a late race flat the previous race slowed his effort raced his way back by Hayes on lap 6, with Kurras enjoying every minute of what was going on behind him. Hubbard, knowing he had to extract every point out of this race after his misfortune the week before slipped by Kurras to the inside in turn three to take the lead on lap 11. Hayes was quick to respond to the opening under former leader Kurras sticking his nose in there to race to second on lap 12. Kurras quickly served notice back he wasn't finished trying to win his second career race when he went back by Hayes on lap 14 to the inside off turn two on lap 14. Two laps later Hayes would make another pass of Kurras for second which was just fine with Brandon Hubbard in the Top Twenty Motorsports Chevy who drove off to his 7th career victory. Jarrod Hayes of Calverton was runner-up with the North Fork Sanitation entry, giving him a somewhat comfortable 24-point margin over Hubbard heading to championship Sunday, Hubbard will hold the first tiebreaker with four wins to three for Hayes.

Sal Accardi Jr. of Deer Park led all 15-laps to win the Eddie Partridge Vintage All Stars main event in a former Tom Baldwin machine. Accardi and John Jasinski brought the 10-car field to green with Sal pacing the race over John. Things were going according to plan for Accardi as he had just enough of a cushion over Jasinski. However, suddenly Sal's car started to step out on him off the fourth corner to start the 10th lap. A long time oval, as well drag racer, Accardi reeled in his A-Plus Auto Salvage Pontiac and settled in to lead the final few laps for the win. John Jasinski of Flanders was second in the Boots Built Vega, Tom Pickerell of Centerport was third in the Kevin Bacik owned Cavalier.
